I'm fundraising for Aga Khan Foundation as part of the inaugural World Partnership Walk Australia Initiative...

For over 40 years, the World Partnership Walk has brought communities together across North America to take action on global poverty - one step at a time.

In 2026, this global movement comes to Australia.

Join us and be part of Sydney’s inaugural Walk. Support the Aga Khan Foundation’s work to tackle the root causes of poverty and improve quality of life across communities in Africa and Asia.

With over 700 million people living on less than $2.15 a day, I’m raising funds that empower vulnerable communities and individuals break the cycle of poverty. Donating to my fundraise campaign will support transformative programs that improve access to quality education, essential health services, food security, and sustainable livelihoods worldwide.

Please help me reach my fundraising goal. Every dollar raised makes a difference.

What the Walk Means to Me

Sunday 13th Sep
In 1985, a small group of refugee women in Vancouver, Canada started the World Partnership Walk with a vision to fight global poverty. It has been a core part of my life for as long as I can remember. Since I was six years old, I was on the ground, in Vancouver, raising donations and attending the walk every single year alongside my late father, who recently passed away.
Dad came to Canada as a refugee to escape the humanitarian crisis in Uganda in the 1970s.
Dad was the one who got me involved. He had a deep, unwavering belief that volunteering is the ultimate tool for community engagement, a way to step outside ourselves, not only improve our own community, but benefit under developed communities, those less fortunate than us, and build lifelong relationships along the way. Together, we would wake up early on walk day to help set up the event, sharing a bond rooted in purpose.
When I moved to Australia, I carried that legacy with me. For years, we fought to bring this incredible movement down under. Now, it is finally happening!
I am incredibly proud to be helping organise the inaugural launch of the World Partnership Walk in Sydney, Australia. This event is a piece of my dad's legacy, a celebration of community, and our chance to tackle global poverty together.
Join me in making history at our first Australian walk. Whether you donate, sign up to volunteer, or register (for free) to walk with us on the day. I would be very happy to see your contribution to the cause. Let's build something beautiful together.
